Genie Baker is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the North Atlanta area. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia where she attended Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated with a Bachelors in Science in Nursing in 2004 followed by her first nursing job at a local hospital where she began her career in women’s health. She received a great foundation to build upon while working with gyn surgical patients and high risk obstetrical patients there. She then moved to Georgia and took a nursing position at the Women’s Center at Northside Hospital Atlanta where she took care of women and their newborns during their postpartum period. Genie also has a passion for education as she held a clinical educator position at Northside to help teach and mold new nurses in the specialty of women’s health. She concluded her Northside nursing career after 11 years to move to Charlotte, North Carolina for a few years to be closer to family and to complete her masters education. Genie attended South University and graduated with her Master’s of Science in Nursing with a concentration in their Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2018. She is nationally board certified by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2018.
She has been practicing for three years as a mid-level provider in an OBGYN office in Decatur, Georgia but is now looking to grow her career as a provider and has joined North Atlanta Women’s Care in 2022. Genie enjoys patient education and believes in empowering women to be advocates for their own health. She is passionate and energetic and prides herself in concentrating on patient and family centered care. Genie and her husband have two beautiful children, 2 great danes and 1 jack russell terrier and reside in Suwanee, Georgia.
