Cervical cancer occurs in a woman’s cervix, a tube-shaped organ that connects the uterus to the vagina, located in the lower portion of the uterus. The malignant cancer cells will form on the surface of the cervix. The American Cancer Society estimates 14,480 new cervical cancer cases will be diagnosed in the United States in 2021, and 4,290 women will die from it.
